Welcome.
This web site is the starting point from which you can learn about me and my therapy practice. My style is relational, creative, and goal-oriented. My practice is guided by extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, mindfulness, Ecotherapy and a lifetime in the creative arts. The menu above provides some information that might help you make an informed decision to start therapy.
If you have ever felt that you are different somehow from others, and feel misunderstood, unseen, and unsure how to navigate the world with your unique mindset, we could be a good fit for therapy.
My practice is guided by the insight and emotional experiencing of Schema Therapy and the coping skills of DBT blended with writing, nature consciousness, and myriad forms of creativity, most especially the use of metaphor to help make sense out of the more nuanced complexities of life. Our work together is backed by the ethos that each therapy session is a journey to approach with a sense of wonder.
My background in the creative arts, as a writer and entertainment/culture technology journalist covering video games and the Internet throughout the 90s and 2000s in San Francisco and Los Angeles, and New York, combined with my lifelong love of the natural world creates the unique blend of experience and insight that I bring to our work in the therapy space. I am interested in where psychology, culture, and nature meet and affect our daily lives and relationships. I specialize in work with adult individuals, teens, college/university students, with an adjunct focus on collaborations, be it partnerships or teams in the arts, entertainment, technology, as well as medical and non-profit ventures.
I am licensed in California, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and provide online telemedicine sessions only. I provide limited office hours in Linwood, New Jersey.
To set up an initial consultation for in-person or telemedicine sessions, please contact me at (415) 685-3894 or via the form listed under the Contact tab. I look forward to hearing from you.

On Covid-19: A therapist's perspective on the pandemic

To be great, be whole: don't exaggerate
Or leave out any part of you.
Be complete in each thing. Put all you are
Into the least of your acts.
-Fernando Pessoa, 1933
May what I do flow from me like a river,
no forcing and no holding back,
the way it is with children.
